India Strengthens Green Hydrogen Push as Clean Energy Transition Gains Momentum

India is continuing to accelerate its clean energy transition by strengthening its focus on green hydrogen, a fuel that is expected to play a major role in reducing carbon emissions from industries such as steel, fertilizers, refining, and heavy transportation. Backed by the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the government is encouraging investments, technological innovation, and infrastructure development to position India as one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of green hydrogen.

Green hydrogen is produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity generated from renewable sources such as solar and wind energy.
