Chinese motorcycle maker ZXMOTO is stepping up its international expansion, using strong results on the racing circuit and growing demand from overseas buyers to build a bigger presence in global markets.
Based in Chongqing, one of China’s major motorcycle manufacturing centers, ZXMOTO has attracted international attention after achieving major results in the World Supersport Championship. The company’s success on the track has helped change perceptions of Chinese motorcycles, particularly in the high-performance segment where European and Japanese manufacturers have traditionally dominated.
The company’s international ambitions are now becoming more visible through actual exports. In June, more than 200 ZXMOTO motorcycles were shipped to Europe, with Poland as the destination. Another 330 motorcycles were also scheduled for shipment to Spain. The company says racing success has helped generate stronger interest from European customers.

Europe is an important target for ZXMOTO because the region has a large and established motorcycle culture. Breaking into markets such as Italy, Spain and other European countries is not easy, particularly for a relatively young Chinese brand. ZXMOTO is therefore trying to compete not simply through pricing, but by highlighting engine performance, technology, design and racing credentials.
Its product range includes larger-displacement motorcycles aimed at riders looking for performance. One of the company’s headline models is the 820RR, an 819cc three-cylinder sportbike. ZXMOTO has presented different versions of the model for the international market, with the highest-performance version designed to reach speeds of almost 300 km/h.
Racing has become a major part of the company’s strategy. ZXMOTO’s victories in international competition have provided something that advertising alone cannot easily deliver: proof that its motorcycles can compete at a high level. French rider Valentin Debise has also recorded multiple World Supersport victories with the company, adding to its international profile.
The growth of ZXMOTO is part of a much larger change taking place in China’s motorcycle industry. China already produces and exports motorcycles on a huge scale. Industry data shows that Chinese motorcycle manufacturers produced more than 22 million units in 2025, while exports exceeded 18 million units annually. The sector is increasingly moving beyond traditional lower-cost motorcycles and looking toward premium and high-performance products.
ZXMOTO itself is still a relatively young company, which makes its rapid progress particularly notable. Reports say the company recorded an output value of about 750 million yuan in 2025 and invested heavily in research and development. It has also set ambitious targets for 2026, including sales of around 60,000 motorcycles and an output value of approximately 1.8 billion yuan.
The challenge now is to turn racing success into a sustainable international business. Winning races can create attention, but global expansion requires reliable distribution networks, after-sales service, spare-parts availability and the ability to meet different regulatory requirements in each market.
For European buyers, the arrival of more Chinese performance motorcycles means greater competition for established brands. It could also give consumers more choices, particularly in the middle and large-displacement categories.
ZXMOTO’s progress is therefore bigger than just one company’s expansion. It reflects the broader shift in China’s motorcycle industry from being known mainly for mass production and exports to competing directly in the world’s premium motorcycle market.
If ZXMOTO can maintain its racing performance while building a dependable international sales and service network, its presence outside China could grow significantly in the coming years. The company’s next challenge will be proving that its success on the racetrack can translate into long-term success on roads around the world.
