Titan Reports 62.9% Jump in Q1 Profit to ₹1,777 Crore as Jewellery Business Drives Strong Growth

Titan Company has started the new financial year on a strong note, reporting a sharp increase in profit for the first quarter as strong demand across its jewellery business and continued growth in its consumer-facing brands supported overall performance.

The company reported a 62.9% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit to around ₹1,777 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The strong increase highlights the continued momentum in Titan’s core businesses and comes despite a challenging environment created by elevated gold prices.

Jewellery remains the biggest contributor to Titan’s business. The company’s brands, including Tanishq and other jewellery formats, have benefited from continued consumer demand even as gold prices have reached exceptionally high levels. Titan’s jewellery business has increasingly focused on premium products, branded jewellery and a wider retail network to attract customers across different income groups.

The strong quarterly performance also comes after Titan delivered a solid FY2025-26. During the previous financial year, the company’s consolidated revenue from operations reached ₹87,584 crore, compared with ₹60,456 crore a year earlier. Consolidated profit attributable to shareholders stood at ₹5,073 crore, up from ₹3,337 crore in FY2024-25.

Titan’s recent growth strategy has focused on expanding its store network while strengthening established brands. Jewellery remains at the centre of that strategy, but the company also operates businesses in watches, eyewear and other consumer categories.

The watches business has continued to benefit from what Titan describes as a premiumisation trend. Consumers are increasingly looking for branded and higher-value watches, giving companies such as Titan an opportunity to improve both sales and product mix.

The company is also expanding its international presence. One of the important developments during the previous financial year was Titan’s completion of the acquisition of a 67% stake in Damas Jewellery, a well-known jewellery business in the Gulf region. The acquisition gives Titan a stronger presence outside India and provides another platform for international growth.

For Titan, the international expansion is particularly relevant because the Indian jewellery market is highly competitive. Building a portfolio of established brands in overseas markets can help diversify revenue sources while giving the company access to customers in regions with strong jewellery demand.

However, the biggest challenge for Titan remains the sharp rise in gold prices. Higher gold prices increase the value of jewellery sold but can also affect consumer behaviour. Some customers may postpone purchases, choose lighter jewellery or shift toward products with lower gold content.

Titan has attempted to manage this environment by focusing on branded jewellery, design, trust and customer experience rather than competing only on price. The company’s large retail network also gives customers access to a wide range of products across different price points.

The company’s jewellery portfolio recorded strong growth in the March quarter despite the elevated gold-price environment. Titan reported jewellery revenue of ₹18,195 crore during Q4 FY26, excluding bullion and digital-gold sales, representing 50% growth from the previous year.

Another important factor is the strength of India’s organised jewellery market. Customers have increasingly moved toward established brands because of concerns around purity, transparency, product quality and resale value. This trend has benefited large organised players such as Titan.

The company’s expansion also creates opportunities beyond jewellery. Titan’s watches, eyewear and other consumer businesses provide additional sources of revenue and reduce its dependence on a single category over the longer term.

For investors, the 62.9% increase in quarterly profit is an encouraging signal, but future performance will depend on several factors. Gold prices, consumer spending, festive demand, store expansion and the performance of the newly acquired international businesses will all be closely watched.

The upcoming festive and wedding seasons could be particularly important for Titan. Jewellery purchases in India are closely linked to weddings, festivals and other celebrations, making the second half of the financial year an important period for the company.

At the same time, high gold prices could continue to influence buying patterns. If prices remain elevated, consumers may become more selective even though the overall value of jewellery sales could remain strong.

Titan’s ability to combine strong brands with an expanding retail network gives it an advantage in this environment. The company is also investing in technology, customer experience and new formats to keep pace with changing consumer preferences.

The latest results therefore underline Titan’s position as one of India’s leading organised jewellery and lifestyle companies. Strong profit growth, continued jewellery demand and international expansion provide a positive foundation for the year ahead.

The key question will be whether Titan can maintain this momentum as gold prices remain high and competition increases. If the company continues to attract customers toward branded and premium jewellery while successfully integrating its international operations, it could maintain strong growth through the rest of FY2026-27.

For investors and the wider retail industry, Titan’s latest performance is another indication that India’s organised jewellery market continues to expand, even in a period of unusually high gold prices.
